Rolex makes an entry into the secondhand market with an official pre-owned program

Buying a Rolex isn’t something everyone can afford. However, making it a tad bit easier for us is the brand with its certified pre-owned program. The new initiative will allow buyers to get their hands on authenticated secondhand watches. Now, the pre-owned program has only one retailer onboard – Bucherer however the marquee is working on involving other authorized dealers as well. To sell your watch through the initiative, it will need to be purchased from ADs and more than three years old.

And unlike other pre-owned goods, watches bought via the Rolex pre-owned program will come with a certificate of authenticity and a new, two-year warranty card. This will be topped with a Rolex “wax seal” tag as well. Commenting on it, Rolex in a statement said, “Because they are built to last, Rolex watches often live several lives. And because they may be worn on new wrists, the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned program now enables retailers in the brand’s official distribution network to sell second-hand models that are certified as authentic, and which come with a new two-year international guarantee.”

The pre-owned watches will be available at Bucherer boutiques in six countries (Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, Denmark, and the UK) from the start of December 2022. The program will extend to other Rolex retailers by the spring of 2023.
