The Richard Mille RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman collection brings back to life the swinging 70’s

Richard Mille watches are synonymous with fashion breakthroughs and technical advancements in the world of horology, and with the latest RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman collection, the brand’s endeavor to recreate the Disco-era of the ’70s on your wrists have succeeded, and how! This attractive razzle-dazzle is created by combining tsavorites, spessartite, amethysts, diamonds, spinels, rubies, and sapphires to create the impact of a shiny disco ball only far more opulent and eternally grateful. One would expect such a burst of color to create nothing but chaos. Still, on the contrary, the RM 71-02 Automatic Tourbillon Talisman collection magnificently turns the untamed energy and raw glamour of the 1970s into something timeless and remarkably aesthetically appealing. Talisman collection is an eruption of precious stones seen on the strap, case, dial, buckle, crown, and even the rotor. Cécile Guenat conceives the collection, creative and development director of Richard Mille, available in a whopping 10 references, limited to only 7 pieces each differing only in the formation of stones, settings, engravings, and the central decoration of the 0.9mm-thick dial. The watches’ final result is so fantastic the gemstones also present some properties to the wearer, such as hematite for strength, malachite for inner balance, lapis lazuli for vision, and sugilite for protection, pink opal for healing, etc.

Depending on the model, the watches contain anywhere from 817 to 971 stones (Donna is festooned with 823 jewels at 3.88 carats, Gloria is enriched with 967 jewels at 5.26 carats, Grace houses 964 jewels at 5.05 carats, Jane is encrusted with 962 jewels at 4.95 carats; Jessica is decked with 954 jewels at 5.58 carats, Liz holds 817 jewels at 4.45 carats, and Paloma mesmerizes with 892 jewels at 5.79 carats).
