This is a coincidence. Just yesterday we were talking about the likes and choices of Bond, and on a stroll around the mall today my gaze happened to lock at a Tom Ford store which had me momentarily captivated. They come hand-in-hand, don’t they, James Bond and the power to hypnotise. Well, after Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, the American fashion designer’s style skills will be displayed in the upcoming Bond movie, Spectre. And the model – the aggressively handsome Daniel Craig, who returns as Mr Bond. This bit of information is only going to get the ladies dangerously close to the edge of their seats, in anticipation of the late October release of the new movie.
Keeping in line with Bond’s eye for detail and elegance in his attire, Ford has worked with costume designer Jany Temime on a set of six tailored outfits, handmade in Italy. The looks will include a black gabardine coat, a striped two-piece Windsor suit, an O’Connor waistcoat, a Day shirt accessorized with a tie bar, “Dr. No cuffs,” an ivory silk pocket square and Hugh sunglasses; a nylon quilted cardigan jacket with ribbed knit sleeves and gunmetal embellishments and gabardine twill ski pants; a Windsor ivory viscose faille dinner jacket, O’Connor black evening trousers, an evening shirt, a black satin cummerbund and a black silk grosgrain bow tie; gray pinstripe two-piece single-breasted O’Connor suit, a Day shirt and a navy blue cashmere herringbone Crombie coat and blue Prince of Wales two-piece single-breasted O’Connor suit and a 2 Day shirt in blue cotton poplin.
