Angelina Jolie’s rare 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe is heading to auction, and at an expected $800,000+ price tag, someone will have to raid some tombs to snap it up

Here’s something you may not have known about Hollywood actor Angelina Jolie, star of The Tomb Raider series, Wanted and Salt to name a few: Jolie’s a bonafide car collector. The list of cars in Jolie’s car collection that the actor owns and uses regularly is impressive in how varied it is; everything from a Volvo XC90 to a Lexus LS 460 feature. But it’s the cars that don’t get much media attention unless they pop up for sale that are especially interesting. Case in point: Angelina Jolie’s 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe Pininfarina, which heads to auction later this year.

The Ferrari 250 series can lay claim to being the most expensive Ferrari in the world, and one of the most expensive cars in the world at the same time. A 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO sold for $70 million recently, while another example of the racing special sold for $51 million previously. The Hollywood actress’ Ferrari 250 GT, as a road-going example, is not nearly as valuable or rare, with 353 units produced in total.

Jolie’s Ferrari 250 GT is quite the thoroughbred, though. Under the classic lines styled by then-Pinin Farina lies the Colombo 3.0-liter V12 with 220 horsepower, good for a 143mph top speed. The 250 GT is considered a landmark Ferrari car despite being produced in relatively large numbers. It marked the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship with the design house responsible for its styling, with Pininfarina being the only designer of production Ferraris to date.

The star’s Ferrari is the 11th 250 GT to have been produced, and it is finished in black with red leather interiors. Unsurprisingly, it is expected to fetch over $800,000 in the Christie’s auction in November. For fans of the Hollywood actor, or just The Tomb Raider series, this one is invaluable.
