Coming up in Dubai, the world’s first Mercedes-Benz branded residential tower will have ultra-luxury apartments inspired by iconic Mercedes cars. The stunning facade of the 65-storey tower will have 75,000 square feet of solar panels that can charge 40 EVs every day.

Dubai-based developer Binghatti launched its upcoming $1 billion-ultra-luxurious residential project on Wednesday in partnership with Mercedes. Called Mercedes-Benz Places, the state-of-the-art new venture promises to “merge the worlds of automotive and architecture” with a dazzling hypertower that will be built on one of the very few leftover plots in the highly sought-after Downtown Dubai. Overlooking the Burj Khalifa, the architectural masterpiece will rise 1,118 feet (341 meters) above the ground, spanning 65 floors. The tower will house a total of 150 uber-luxury residences with a “meticulously crafted interior.” The buyers will get to choose from two-, three-, and four-bedroom units along with five-bedroom penthouses.

“Iconic design is what we are striving for. We want to create something that stands out and makes a strong statement. This is what we have done for Mercedes-Benz Places in Dubai. We have taken our unique design philosophy of Sensual Purity beyond automotive and shaped an iconic landmark. It looks very different, unique, and futuristic and it will be associated with the design, technology, and luxury appeal that are trademarks of every Mercedes-Benz.” Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer, Mercedes-Benz Group AG.

The spaceship-like exterior of the hypertower with a “distinctive elliptical” shape is said to be inspired by some of the most beautiful cars produced by Mercedes. One of the highlights of the residential project is the integration of photovoltaic technology into the façade of the tower to generate electricity that will be used by EV chargers in the building. “The façade will span 75,000 square feet to generate energy to charge 40 electric vehicles per day. This aggregates to 20,000km of carbon-free trips,” Muhammad Binghatti, CEO of Binghatti Properties, told Khaleej Times in an interview.

The developers of the tower also said that the residents would benefit from a range of “mixed-use facilities” like restaurants, sports and wellness zones, lounges, non-automotive retail, exhibition spaces, and parking. In addition to the EV chargers, the Mercedes-Benz Places will also offer amenities like smart mobility apps, ride-hailing, bike and scooter sharing, chauffeur services, and automated valet parking.

The two-bedroom floors will only have four suites, while there will be only three suites on the three-bedroom unit floor. Furthermore, there will be only two five-bedroom penthouses on each floor. Interestingly, the different residential units have been named after famous Mercedes creations, including both production vehicles and notable concepts.

The design renderings of the apartments released by Binghatti show an ultra-modern interior with earthy tones contrasted with chrome surfaces. A groundbreaking event is scheduled for later this year, while the project is set for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026.
