The world swooned at the pre-wedding festivities of Asia’s richest man Mukesh Ambani’s youngest offspring, Anant. Yes, the billionaire worth $112 billion did make a spectacle of the personal occasion that got even centibillionaires like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg to stop, notice, and enjoy. But one should learn that their daily lives aren’t any less marvelous either. The Ambani clan lives in one of the most expensive homes worldwide, a nearly $5 billion residence in the poshest area of Mumbai and the abode of affluence is called Antilia.

The Reliance Industries matriarch Nita Ambani has the family of 7 living together on the 26th floor of their luxurious 27-storey home designed by architecture firms, Perkins & Will, and Hirsch Bedner Associates. Mukesh Ambani, along with his wife Nita, his mother Kokilaben, their older son Akash Ambani, and his wife Shloka Mehta, along with their kids Prithvi Akash Ambani and Veda Akash Ambani, and Anant Ambani reside on the 26th floor.

It is certainly not a dearth of space when one owns a space across 400,000 sq. ft and the extended floor height makes Antilia equivalent to 60 stories. To put it in perspective the White House has 55,000 square feet of space split between the ground, state, and residential floors.

Anyway, the real reason why Nita Ambani and the entire clan reside upstairs is that every room boasts ample doses of natural light and great ventilation, according to a Times Now Hindi report. It is also said that only close people are allowed on the 26th floor of the building which will soon accommodate one more member Radhika Merchant after the impending July nuptials, which could be held right at their palatial home.

It is not uncommon for Indian families to live together, but cramping several members on one floor when you have 25 others is a bit much. Of course with the family spread on different floors would make seeing each other that much more difficult.

Antilia boasts a range of opulent amenities that make good use of their ample space. From an entire floor dedicated to health and wellness, a salon, three swimming pools, and a grand ballroom, the home is the very definition of a modern-day palace. It also features yoga rooms, dance studios, a theater, and a snow room for scorching hot days.

There are also yoga and dance studios and this marvel-of-a-mansion is maintained by no less than 600 staff members. The Ambani home staff is trained by India’s luxury Oberoi Hotel Chain which means in addition to living in the lap of luxury they are also accustomed to hotel-like hospitality 24×7.

About living at the very top of the 570 feet tall structure Nita told Vanity Fair, “It’s a modern home with an Indian heart. We made our home right at the top because we wanted the sunlight … so it’s an elevated house on top of a garden.” in order to zip the busy billionaires to their private space, Antilia is equipped with nine high-speed elevators, making living at the top not so bad!
