With the sale of his superyacht Drizzle, a 220-foot Feadship beauty for nearly $68 million, Zara billionaire Amancio Ortega is short of a superyacht or is he? Just like there can be no sea without ships there can be no billionaire without a fancy boat, and the founder of Inditex and main shareholder of the multinational not only bought himself another fantastic Feadship superyacht but this time he went bigger and better! With $200 million to spare, he will now look forward to super stylish summers aboard his latest possession Project 2024, a 236-feet long vessel, boasting three ample decks.

As per La Voz de Galicia, the Zara founder’s newest luxury vessel will come equipped with a helipad, an 11-feet wide pool, and a jacuzzi. Even the timing couldn’t have been better as the Galician businessman managed to sell the Drizzle yacht, which he put on the market in 2021, with a bigger superyacht ready to whisk him away.

The Drizzle superyacht.

Amancio Ortega and his family made the most of their last luxury vessel Drizzle, which was the address of merriment on the Mediterranean for over a decade. The retail magnate worth $111 billion also owns a smaller yacht, the Valoria 2, named after Ortega’s mother’s hometown.

Meet Project 2024 a superyacht fit for a centibillionaire –
The Feadship vessel was designed in 2021 in collaboration with Nauta Design for an owner who the yard described as someone who “has neither experience nor interest in the complex technical aspects of a new build.” The Project 2024 exudes a timeless style boasting large windows to take in breathtaking views, a well-appointed master suite for the billionaire and nine guest cabins for 18 guests. Images reveal a sleek and slender yet imposing yacht with clean lines, no fuss.

Its most inviting space is the ample beach club dubbed ‘The Island’ owing to the presence of a dual-level wellness center with a wealth of amenities. The well-designed space with fold-out balconies lends a whopping 80% increase in platform surface area. As a result, guests have a leisurely day by the 11-foot pool, a lounge area. The lower deck features storage space for the tender and water toys in addition to the steam shower and sauna rooms.

The primary suite on the main deck comes with a magnificent cabin with walk-in wardrobes and bathrooms, a secluded lounge with a library, and a private balcony. Owners also have access to a private pool, sunpads, and an additional lounge area that’s cut off from the hoopla of the rest of the vessel. A true masterpiece for a wealthy magnate.

Zara founder is a a nonchalant billionaire
This 88-year-old tycoon, who is now the undisputed king of fast fashion, began his career by working at a clothing shop when he was 13. He, his siblings, and his future wife Rosalía Mera stitched women’s bathrobes by hand. The first Zara store opened its doors in 1975, and the rest is history. Inditex, the parent company of Zara, also owns Massimo Dutti, Stradivarius, Oysho, Uterqüe, and Zara Home. Despite owning the tallest skyscraper in Spain, the $536 million Torre Picasso, another $551 million skyscraper, investments in Epic Residences and Hotel in Miami, and a downtown Chicago hotel for $72.5 million, among many others, he maintains an unpretentious lifestyle.
