The Twitter account used to track billionaire Elon Musk’s private jet was suspended. Jack Sweeney saw it coming, especially after Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover. The account, @elonjet, was run by a Florida college student and amassed more than half a million followers. It tracked Musk’s location using publicly available flight data, much to the irk of the world’s richest man Elon Musk. In Sweeney’s defense, Musk publicly declared last month that he would not ban the account he considered a safety risk to prove his commitment to free speech. It turned into all talk and no action.

Sweeney’s account @elonjet has been tracking every movement of Elon Musk’s jet since the past three years.

The @elonjet page showed a message that read “account suspended” because it violated the platform’s rules. The account has been operated since 2020 by Jack Sweeney, who also ran other Twitter accounts that tracked the private jets of Mark Zuckerberg and other celebrities. Though upset over this, the teenager was prepared and requested his followers to back-up pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram. As of writing this story, Sweeney’s personal Twitter account has also been suspended. Mark Zuckerberg can also heave a sign of relief as Sweeney’s account, @Zuccjet which tracked the movements of his jet has also been suspended.

He did express his anger by dubbing Twitter’s new CEO a ‘full-on hypocrite.’ As expected, the news broke out across all social media channels, with many followers taking a jibe at Musk. Per Fortune, Musk said in a tweet that legal action was being taken against Sweeney and the “organizations who supported harm to my family.”

Elon Musk made his point-
Living in the limelight seems glitzy and glamorous till celebrities unveil its ugly side. Elon Musk made his point by posting a video of a ‘crazy’ stalking the car his toddler was traveling in. the stalker blocked the vehicle’s path and climbed on top of its hood. The Twitter CEO revealed his two-year-old son X Æ A-Xii, known as X, was inside the car, and he is now trying to hunt down the man. This nightmare of an incident certainly puts things into perspective for those siding with Sweeney.

Even though the Sweeney account is unrelated to the incident, it puts safety, privacy, and security high on the priority list. Musk tweeted, ‘Any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation. This includes posting links to sites with real-time location info. Posting locations someone traveled to on a slightly delayed basis isn’t a safety problem, so is ok.’ Jack Sweeney had received a lot of praise for tracking the private jets of Russian oligarchs on @RUoligarchjets, Twitter has suspended that account as well.
