Lauren Sanchez sizzled in a Vogue photoshoot inside a 500-foot-tall $42 million mechanical clock built by her fiance Jeff Bezos. Designed to last 10,000 years, it is powered by gears that are bigger than a car, and it’s built inside a mountain on the Amazon founder’s land in West Texas.

When your fiancé is the world’s third richest man, with a net worth that includes owning an entire ranch and the Sierra Diablo mountain, as well as the underground Clock of the Long Now that’s designed to last 10,000 years, you can certainly afford some extraordinary experiences. Helicopter pilot Lauren Sanchez had her share of awe-inspiring moments, especially with the magnificent $42 million Millennium Clock (also known as the Clock of the Long Now).

This clock, designed to tick just once a year and chime once per millennium, features a cuckoo that chirps only every 1,000 years. Interestingly, visitors have the opportunity to wind this clock, initiated by Bezos in 2011. Powered by solar energy, it’s securely nestled within the mountain, protected from external elements. The photo shoot occurred in several locations synonymous with her partner’s professional life and business empire. The 10,000-Year Clock, standing 500-feet tall is built inside a cliff on the Amazon boss’s property. It provided an incredible backdrop for ‘sultry Sanchez,’ who posed in a body-hugging crimson Dolce and Gabbana gown.

She appeared like a rose petal amidst a cluster of thorns, creating a visual not many can experience. In her Vogue interview, Sanchez told the writer that the 10,000-Year-Clock offers her and her future husband a way of “thinking about the future.” Sanchez also thought her unique shoot location would serve more purposes. “Wouldn’t it be cool to have a Halloween party here?” Sánchez said. Besides striking poses against time (pun intended), she also gave Vogue readers a glimpse into the world of Blue Origin.

From confidently posing in the West Texas ranch’s beautiful landscape to donning her favorite designer, Valentino, in a blue hue (perhaps a nod to the centibillionaire’s company, Blue Origin), she embraced it all.

Inside the Blue Origin facility, the fashionista shone in a glittering golden Dolce & Gabbana dress, complemented by statement Chanel earrings. The soon-to-be Mrs. Bezos even made her way into a test capsule for New Shepard, Blue Origin’s reusable rocket.

Sanchez is notably planning an all-female space expedition with her girlfriends, a unique bachelorette party idea, especially now that the tycoon has proposed.

Bezos popped the question at the start of their summer at sea, hiding an enormous pink diamond ring under her pillow. ‘When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit,’ she shared. Her incredible and unconventional Vogue shoot elicited similar reactions from many fans.
