If you’re a Tom Brady fan, we understand your current state of mind. It’s (in all probability) that of despair and respect with the American football quarterback recently announcing his retirement. However, for those willing to get a special keepsake (remotely) associated the legend, here’s a deal for you.

Brady’s ‘retirement sand’ that listed on eBay for $99,900:
Of the strangest memorabilia to hit the market, this one tops them all! We’re talking about a bottle of sand from the beach (that Brady made his retirement announcement from) that is currently listed for sale for an unbelievable $99,900! Yes, you read that right!

The Florida beach (Surfside Beach in Miami) sand where the footballer ended his iconic 23-year NFL career has already received 124 bids, with the number only increasing with each passing hour! The sand’s listing reads: “Bid for 1 of 2 samples taken from Tom Brady’s exact retirement spot on Feb. 1, 2023.”

Interestingly, there are others selling sand from the beach, and they are also getting bids from 50 cents all the way upto $19,000.

More about the mega-expensive bottle of grit and its counterfeits:
The user originally listed the ‘retirement sand’ for $677 in honor of Brady’s total career touchdowns. Soon enough, bids for the bottle touched $15K before peaking up to the current $99,900 on the morning of February 4th! With the auction set to end on February 12th, the apparently lucky winner will receive one of the two 8oz mason jars collected.

The item further comes with photo proofs and video proofs showing that the sand was collected hours after Brady’s retirement video. However, if you’re willing to bid for Brady’s grit, be cautious as there are several imitations of the original that have now surfaced online – ranging between $1 to $19K.

Other memorabilia belonging to the footballer that have fetched massive sums:
While we don’t hold the ‘retirement sand’ in high regard, there have been plenty of Brady-stamped memorabilia that sound legit and worth the dollars. Of them, is a pair of signed, game-worn Brady jerseys that are listed with Heritage Auctions and Goldin Co. and are already attracting six-figure bids.

Similarly, a rookie card – an autographed 2000 Playoff Contenders piece was sold recently for a cool $3.1 million dollars at Lelands auction. The sale also placed Brady in the top ten of all sports for the most expensive trading card sold.

Update – The listing that attracted a bid of $99,900 has been removed from eBay, citing, “This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing.”
