Balenciaga being Balenciaga sent smashed iPhones to invite guests to its Paris Fashion Week show

Trust Balenciaga to impress you year after year! Just when we thought they couldn’t outdo the spring/summer 2022 collection launched with a 10-minute The Simpsons episode, the luxury brand coughed up an invite on damaged phones! The luxury fashion brand ditched traditional paper invites and invited their guests with smashed-up iPhones with the event details engraved on the back. As per Lad Bible, the card sent out with the cracked phone reads, “Please find personalized information on the back of this phone. This is a genuine artifact from the year 2022. It is nonfunctional and to be used for display purposes only. This document certifies that this device is, to the best of our knowledge, not artificially manufactured but made from years of use and later, neglect.”

This could be the luxury label’s cryptic way of announcing an upcoming digital live stream, that will take the Balenciaga FW22 experience to viewers worldwide. The Simpsons show got a standing ovation from Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Kim Kardashian. Meanwhile, celebrities like Cardi B, Offset, Lewis Hamilton, Juergen Teller, Isabelle Huppert, Naomi Campbell, and Elliot Page showed Balenciaga’s new collection on the red carpet. Will this show equal the magnificence of the Simpsons? Let’s find out on Sunday when the brand’s 360° show will be live-streamed around the world from the Balenciaga website.
