After giving us what’s remembered by Apple aficionados as the world’s most expensive iPad case, Tod’s latest attempt at luxurious exclusivity has resulted J.P. Tod’s Sartorial Collection. So discerning men, prepare to mark wardrobe shelves, for the special project borrows from back in the day, to focus heavily on the quality of the leather used and the treatment given to it.
Balancing the demands of the modern-day man and the brand’s “Made in Italy” tradition, the collection collates looks that are functional yet made with the best leathers available. The project takes the hide “back to its roots” by keeping it looking as pure and natural as possible. For that, Tod’s master craftsmen pick leather that is only the most premium.
Brushing and polishing techniques then allow it to exhibit its true luster and essence. The series of shoes and bags crafted using this approach will be sold only in select Tod’s boutiques around the world (Paris Faubourg, Tokyo Omotesando, Shanghai IAPM and, soon, in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills), and at the J.P. Club at Tod’s in Milan.
