While Louis Vuitton is primarily known for its bags and leather goods, the marquee has made quite a splash in the world of fragrances recently. The brand’s much touted for ‘Les Parfums Louis Vuitton collection’ is a testament to its mastery in making perfumes which is further sealed with the release of unique new sent – the Heures d’Absence.
Created by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, master perfumer and fragrance creator for the Louis Vuitton house, the novel fragrance boasts the freshness and whiteness to jasmine sambac. It is enveloped with notes of freshly cut May roses and jasmine and processed using the CO2 extraction technology. It is further mixed with the aromatic pittosporum flower and hints of sandalwood and mush for an exotic finish.
The Heures d’Absence is inspired by the first Louis Vuitton fragrance Heures D’Absence which was launched in 1927. The vintage edition was produces to mark the opening of the London store, and was named after Georges Vuitton’s villa. It was made available in only 300 copies and even featured a small airplane on the body of its rectangular glass bottle that embodied a love for travel. The Heures d’Absence 2020 edition will be produced in 100ml Eau de Parfum, 200ml Eau de Parfum and smaller travel packs and is expected to hit the shelves by the end of February 2020.
