Leica’s new S edition 100 years anniversary set comes engraved to mark the brand’s legendariness

If Leica’s latest Hello Kitty X Playboy camera isn’t up your shutterbug-ing alley, fret not. Following the news of that one is yet another and this one comes with the cheer of centennial revelry. On the occasion of this very special anniversary, the camera marque has released a special centennial edition, the Leica S ‘Edition 100’. And mind you, this is only the first in an entire series.

But getting back to the very first and the very special, the Leica S ‘Edition 100’ comprises a Leica S medium-format system camera and two of the most popular S lenses. Both with a central shutter, the Leica Summarit-S 70 mm f/2.5 ASPH. CS and the Leica Elmarit-S 30 mm f/2.8 ASPH. CS. are truly exceptional. But those alone don’t give the camera its extraordinary status. It’s the engraving that gets credit.

The centennial logo, which appears on the body of the Leica S and on both S lenses marks Leica’s legendariness. In addition, its centennial appeal is enhanced by a Leica version of the Rimowa Topas Multiwheel Cabin Trolley. In bright aluminum with high-quality inner compartment, the compact size case is ideal for use as hand luggage on flights besides being the ultimate in security and style. The limited edition set is priced at $34,500.
