Leica partners with Hello Kitty and Playboy for a limited edition camera

Ah Colette! Dear, dear coveted Colette. Only your cool concept-ness could garner the latest limited edition shooter, one that’s created by Leica for two greats of pop culture! I’m referring to Hello Kitty and Playboy, the two of whom have come together in a rather strange union (I mean, hello, adult entertainment king and kid’s icon, really?) to celebrate their respective 40th and 60th birthdays with a range of goodies. Which brings us back to the Leica C then.

The C camera model is stylish in black with a shutter speed of 250 to 1/4000 per second. But besides its MOS primary color filter, what stirs us about this creation is the white graphic design of Hello Kitty holding a camera and, wait for it, wearing Playboy bunny ears.

I can’t say that isn’t a bit disorienting at first but it is indeed pretty wild a version. Only 10 of these cameras will be sold, and they are priced at $1,264 each. Besides the camera, Colette is also retailing other ‘Hello Kitty X Playboy’ collection items, such as iPhone cases, mugs, mirrors, lighters and candies.
