The need for coffee is known to eclipse all rational thoughts from our minds and Costa Coffee definitely knows that, just take their latest delivery methods at evidence. In Dubai, the chain has completed its first ever delivery by drone. The Drone Drop was provided by Costa’s Jumeirah Beach Road café and was delivered to a lucky customer in the Kite Beach area.
“Dubai is known for leading the way with innovative technology and drones are the next frontier for instant delivery,” said Shemaine Jones, head of marketing at Costa Coffee UAE. “Our customers told us they’d love to have their favorite drinks dropped off by drones, so we’re super excited to have successfully tested this service, enabling beach-goers o enjoy ice-cold beverages without leaving the comfort of their sun loungers.”
The Drone trial was carried out as a response to 82 percent of Costa’s UAE customers who said they would like to have a drone deliver their orders to them. Let’s hope this trend catches on all over the world!
