The Macallan debuts their new Travel Retail exclusives: The Quest Collection

The new Quest collection from the Macallan is a quartet of single malts that is set for a launch this month in Global Travel Retail. The four expressions in this collection will replace The Macallan 1824 Collection of Select Oak, Whisky Maker’s Edition and Estate Reserve. Quest promises a hunt for the world’s finest oak and – according to the brand- explores a range of flavors. The four expressions Quest, Lumina, Terra and Enigma will hit the shelves at Singapore’s Changi Airport this month.

The first of the four – Quest ($80) – uses four different casks to create a flavor of citrus and sweet vanilla. American bourbon casks are combined with exclusively selected sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, and hogsheads, to deliver a soft and light single malt with a pale gold color.

Lumina ($100) uses American and European sherry seasoned oak casks along with hogshead casks to create a bold flavor with notes of vanilla ginger and wood spice. Lumina is described as having a soft and dry finish and a harvest gold color.

Lastly, Enigma ($250) was matured exclusively in European oak sherry-seasoned casks from one cooperage in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
