At $25,000 the 1959 Corvette pool table

First there was a Corvette inspired desk, now there’s a pool table. I’m talking about the various avatars of the Corvette. We always say car-inspired furniture is ideal for those who love but cant afford the real deal. Still, this 1959 Corvette inspired table is a bit more special. Built in the US, this is the regulation billiards table whose base is molded from an original 1959 Chevrolet Corvette.

Painted the original ’59 Roman Red and Snowcrest White, the car is, shellacked with a layer of automotive clear coat, then hand-buffed and polished. Complete with gleaming grille, curves, and actual working versions of the trademark four headlights, which illuminate with a remote control, it meticulously reproduces the classic convertible.

With genuine steel rims and chrome covers ornamented with spinners, its four full-size whitewall tires come replete with crossed racing flags in the cove area and Corvette emblems on the deck lid and hood. Truly the unexpected as promised by the house of Hammacher Schlemmer, it is a tournament-size 4 1/2′ x 9′ pool table with a three-piece, felt-covered 1″-thick slate surface and rails in solid hardwood.

Prim-ed to professional-caliber perfection, the table is further equipped with dense cushions for quick rebounds, and six-drop pockets. From what we hear, it can be personalized and even plugs into AC. Built in the US, the “car” clearly has a lot going for it. And with all that, the fantastic four-wheeler of a billiards table comes with cues, a set of regulation billiard balls, mock VIN and title and a price tag of $25,000.
