Flying out of Hong Kong airport and forgot to pick a little something for the family? Head straight to Peninsula Hotel’s first retail boutique that has now opened at the departure area at Hong Kong International Airport. Located in the ‘I Love Hong Kong’ retail zone, the new Peninsula Boutique offers a collection of the exclusive merchandise from The Peninsula Hotels including some of the hotel group’s delicacies like artisanal chocolates, cookies, exquisite Peninsula tea blends and several more gift ideas that let you take a slice of The Peninsula lifestyle back home. No more ‘no time to shop’ excuses!
“The Peninsula Hotels has a long history in serving travellers from all over the world with impeccable service, we are delighted to operate our own boutique at the travel hub of Hong Kong to offer customers a taste of The Peninsula,” said Julie Bourgeois, General Manager, Peninsula Merchandising Limited.
The new boutique has been developed by international interior design firm, Yabu Pushelberg. The store’s interiors, inspired by travel, have been designed to resemble a trunk. The 644 square-foot boutique features wooden and leather shelves and compartments and marble counter tops.
The new boutique will offers a range of exclusive products, including hand-dipped chocolate cookies in three different flavors: hazelnut with raisins, apricot with raisins, and white chocolate chips. A selection of classic treats like butter egg rolls, coffee egg rolls, chocolate chip and macadamia cookies, along with mini milk chocolate bars. The Boutique’s artisanal collections, the creation of Maître Chocolatier, Marijn Coertjens, who spearheads ‘The Chocolate Room’ at The Peninsula Hong Kong, are also available at the store.
Tea is also a tradition and a passion at The Peninsula and the store will offer a selection of premium Chinese blends and Western classics. Exclusive to the new boutique are packages of assorted fine Peninsula Blend Western and Chinese teas in special gift boxes that feature archival images and luggage tags from the nine-decade history of The Peninsula Hotels. Other fine gifts include silver-plated photo frames and keepsake boxes, souvenir mugs and stylish tote bags featuring the much-loved Peninsula Bear. All the goodies are wrapped in boxes made from fine textured, custom-made FSC paper in shades of green, brown, beige or burgundy.
The new Peninsula Boutique is the first airport retail outlet managed solely by Peninsula Merchandising Limited and will remain open from 7am to 11pm.
