Thailand continues to be one of the hottest travel destinations and no trip is complete without a stopover in Bangkok. Bangkok draws tourists world over for its glitzy street life, exotic nightlife, opulent palaces, sacred temples, and of course the fact that it is a mecca for shopping. Dynamic and richly cosmopolitan, it never ceases to amaze.

When visiting the capital city, choosing where to stay can be tough, for you are spoiled for choice when it comes to accommodation. We scoured the place for our top pick and the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok comes across as a winner for its classic yet contemporary style, service, and excellence. Their Royal Suite makes the cut as our suite of the week.

This stunning 3509 sq. ft. suite is located in the original Royal Wing of The Oriental Hotel and is the jewel in the crown of the renowned Authors’ Wing. The suite was designed keeping in mind the needs of the visiting Royals and dignitaries. A level of understated luxury is maintained throughout with polished marble and sumptuous furnishings in royal colors of purple and white accented by yellow. The suite also features original mouldings, silver leaves, and exquisite chandeliers.

The bedroom comes with a king sized bed, an ornate dresser, a wardrobe, and a small seating area. Picture frames on the wall add a touch of class and the combination of colors – white, purple, and gray lends it a truly luxurious feel. A crystal chandelier in the center completes the entire royal experience. There’s also a river facing balcony that offers fabulous views of the Chao Phraya River, garden, and the hotel’s pool.

The Oriental Spa is exclusive and luxurious and blends the ancient culture and rituals of the Orient. Their therapies are based on traditional Thai and modern Western techniques and treatments are performed on the traditional style floor mattress. We highly recommend their Oriental Signature Treatment which is a blend of essential oils extracted from plants and combines Thai and European styles to ease muscle tension and energize the body.
