Swiss hotelier has started luxury ‘Covid-19’ quarantine packages that come with a virus test

With the economic slowdown, one of the hardest-hit sectors includes hospitality. Hotels world over are experiencing a dip in sales, however, the Le Bijou Hotel & Resort has decided to fight this with innovation. In protecting revenues, the luxury chain has introduced what it is calling the ‘Covid-19’ exclusive package. Yes, that’s right!

Aimed at wealthy clients who wish to quarantine in style, the “Covid-19 Service” includes a luxury stay with meal delivery and medical services, including virus tests. Guests are able to auto check-in and check-out with minimal interaction with hotel staff and even avail in-room medical services provided on-call by Double Check- a private health clinic in Switzerland. Services are available in Le Bijou’s Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lucerne, Zug, and Zurich hotels and include $500 – coronavirus testing, $1,800 – twice-daily nurse check-in, and $4,800 – round-the-clock nurse care.

Commenting on the exclusive deal, Alexander Hübner, CEO and co-founder of the chain said, “At the beginning of March, revenues had dropped significantly. We said, okay, we need to react immediately to that.” He further added, “In the beginning, we just had about two enquires per day. Now its ramped up to four, five, six a day, and we just started, I think, one week, 10 days ago.” If you’re bored of your plain-Jane household and would like to quarantine in luxury, Le Bijou is where you need to head!
