Baccarat’s completion of les 250 ans now not only has a 250th Anniversary exhibition to its celebratory credit, The Ritz Carlton, Hong Kong is honoring the momentous time with an “Exclusive 12” bar concept. Any guesses what that’s all about? I can tell you this, there is Baccarat glassware involved in it.
Drinking to the longevity of a French maison (besides one’s own) has never been this opulent! With the new concept literally translating to limited seating of only 12, The Lounge & Bar, with its lavishly designed interior and Oriental-accented crystal chandelier centerpieces now boasts 12 luxurious leather seats around the ornate carved bar counter in the center, inviting discerning patrons to indulge in luxe cocktails served within Baccarat.
Award-winning mixologist, Lewis Tsang has developed the “Cocktails in Baccarat” collection featuring delicately concocted cocktails in the finest Baccarat glassware. Now about that collection, there are six types of cocktails, including some of the all-time favorites such as Vesper Martini, named after (no surprises there) James Bond’s first love, Vesper Lynd and Hanada (meaning flower field) Martini, a must-try, laced with aromatic floral organic gin, parfait amour and elderflower liqueurs, and topped with lots of Earl Grey foam.
While the latter is reminiscent of a garden smelling of fresh flowers, those hoping to veer from floral can savor the signature in the collection- the whiskey sour-inspired Mr. Song. Not just pleasing to the eyes but also having a three-layer taste of ginger, black truffle and the original whiskey sour on a hand crafted rock ice sphere, the cocktail is a clear stellar winner. Another palatable visual is created by the classic champagne cocktail, Snow Finch. Creating an image of a flying bird in the sky, it is beautifully presented in a Baccarat champagne glass and with a refreshing taste of lychee, lemon and elderflower.
Paired with a selection of premium bar counter snacks, such as Balik Salmon, Quail Egg with French Caviar, Duck Foie Gras Terrine and Iberico Ham, prepared by Ritz Carlton, Hong Kong’s talented team of chefs, the “Exclusive 12” bar concept is the ultimate cocktail and gourmet experience for guests who crave the finest personalized service. It is available to experience from 7pm to 12 mid night nightly but those visiting between Tuesdays and Sundays can also expect to find live jazz music.
