Its geometry, its juxtaposition, its sheer magic; Louis Vuitton’s Pure V collection, now expanded with eight new high jewelry creations, is a reminder that when you do one thing, and do it well, the results are extraordinary. Channeling the genius of Gaston-Louis Vuitton, an admirer of the Art Deco movement and the creator of his own monogram, the three-color V (a signature that adorned his luggage in the 1920s and ’30s), this collection reimagines the monogram in a new light and dimension.
At first glance, I was reminded of how mathematics can look mesmerizing, or is it that beauty becomes hypnotic when built on precise, mathematical brilliance? The 2025 collection owes its allure to the exacting application of geometry and symmetry, elevated by the finest quality diamonds. Full credit to the designers for using the iconic ‘V’ as a three-dimensional structure and then letting light work its charm.
The collection features captivating necklaces, earrings, a ring, and bracelets. The necklace, in particular, is the showstopper, a near choker-like piece that comes in variations featuring three, two, or a single line of the motif’s pyramids. The cynosure is a bold ‘V’ statement motif, accentuated by two rows of baguette-cut diamonds. This dramatic ‘V’ also appears in the two-row necklace but is omitted in the single-line design.
The latter opts for an alternating arrangement of the motif that adds a more feminine, fluid touch, in contrast to the warrior-esque statement pieces. Complementing bracelets mirror the number of rows for a seamless and powerful pairing.
The spectacular superimposition of triangles and latticework continues in the smaller counterparts, earrings and the sole ring in the collection. Both match all the necklaces perfectly, elevated by invisible clasps that create the illusion of nothing between you and your precious jewelry, except for an irresistible magnetic pull. Safe to say, this is high jewelry for the woman who commands a room with silence, not sparkle. Pure V isn’t just worn, it’s wielded.
