Forget children being dropped off in Rolls-Royces and Bentleys; Dubai is building a $100 million school that will have a helipad, so students can just fly in

To truly grasp the heights of opulence in education, look no further than Dubai, which is preparing to launch a new $100 million campus with annual fees that could reach an eye-watering $56,000. This is on par with the tuition at prestigious Ivy League schools like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. However, the level of luxury offered by GEMS Education’s new 47,600-square-meter campus is unmatched, and it’s likely to attract deep-pocketed individuals eager to pay for the experience.

Set to open in August, Dubai’s ‘most expensive school’ will feature a 600-seat auditorium, an Olympic-sized pool, and a football field that doubles as a helipad, according to a statement. Forget whisking your kids in Lamborghinis and Bentleys, this school will welcome students from Foundation 1 to Year 13 in helicopters. As the name suggests, the GEMS School of Research and Innovation is designed to provide an unparalleled learning experience, with robotics labs, go-kart engineering workshops, and a 400-meter track to test student designs.

The first term will begin in August, offering classes up to Year 6. Tuition will start at $32,000 for the youngest students and rise to $41,000 by Year 6. The school will follow an enhanced British national curriculum, incorporating specialist languages, arts, engineering, and business.

The icing on the cake is the partnerships with industry leaders such as Microsoft, HP, Apple, and Plug and Play Tech Center, which will encourage entrepreneurship and offer students real-world learning opportunities.

Other standout amenities include an Olympic-size swimming pool, a Premier League-standard football field, an NBA-spec basketball court and an auditorium, and numerous performance venues. The LEED Gold-certified campus’s crown jewel is undoubtedly the elevated football field that doubles as a helipad.

GEMS World Academy, the sister school, boasts similar luxuries, including a 3D planetarium with a database of over 300,000 stars, a 600+ seat auditorium, a music recording studio, and even the exclusive FAB Gems World Credit Card, making it one of Dubai’s most elite schools. The new school is bound to redefine luxury in education when enrollments open.
