We are not sure if a gold plated skateboard is a good idea or a pure show of decadence, but notwithstanding its sheer pointlessness we have seen quite a few of those in the past like the gold skateboard by Greg Hervieux and Antoine Palomares, and the board gilded with 24k gold leaf. And now we have another one made by none other than SHUT which is one of the oldest skateboard companies. The project was initiated by the LES skate shop and the board like any others measures at 31 1/2 inches in length, 8 inches in width and comes in at around 9 lb but features only the best quality, fully functional parts. Designed by Matthew Willet, the board is taken through an electroplating process in gold with 99.999% purity. The end product is polished to give it a perfect mirror polish. The gilded skateboard is priced at $15,000 but the product is currently listed at ‘Out of Stock’.
