Being Elizabeth Holmes may not be a pleasant affair. The disgraced billionaire has had her share of media trials and abandonment. However, she’s made quite a fortune in the process too. Proof of it is her ( and ex Sunny Balwani’s) giant mansion that was recently sold for a bank-breaking $16 million! Yes, that’s right!
The one-acre property, despite its owner’s embroiled lives, is quite a breath of fresh air. It is situated behind gates and mature hedges and is touted as a “classic example of French provincial architecture.” It is situated in the same leafy neighborhood that’s also home to Steph Curry, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Marc Andreessen, and others.
The opulent home features five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two powder rooms spread over its nearly 9,000-square-foot structure. There’s also a one-bedroom guesthouse that is perched in its beautiful backyard.
Inside, the house is quite a piece of the show too. At first, there’s a formal living room with a fireplace and varnished parquet hardwood floors throughout. The house then proceeds towards a luxe dining room, complete with a flashy crystal chandelier and elaborate wainscoting.
Further, the kitchen boasts two islands and top-of-the-line stainless appliances, alongside ample room for wine storage and a wet bar somewhere on the premises. The floor is completed with a family room with direct access to the backyard gardens.
While the four ensuite bedrooms lie upstairs, a fifth suite that could be “staff quarters or an ideal office” is situated on the main level itself. And not to forget, the master bath which is a work of art in itself and comes with sunny backyard views and a built-in soaking tub.
The luxe property further boasts of an air-conditioned and heated covered loggia, manicured gardens, and a pool surrounded by a patio that is ideal for sunbathing. It was sold to software engineer Hansong Zhang, a former Roblox executive, and his wife Sally Shi, a managing director at investment bank Oppenheimer Holdings, for a little over $15.8 million in January this year.
Talk about a luxe life!
