Limited edition 2015 Audi R8 Performance Package announced

The current generation of Audi R8 has been in production since 2006 and will be phased out by next year before the German automaker releases the next-generation of its top-of-the-line racing car. As a last hurrah for its current model, Audi has quietly announced that the 2015 R8 line-up will also feature a new Limited Edition performance package. The announcement came alongside the new pricing and model year changes for their entire 2015 lineup in the United States. The German marquee however declined to give complete information on the 2015 Audi R8 Limited Edition Performance Pack including the bump in performance figures. The pricing and availability will be announced later.

As for the 2015 Audi R8 model, it will come with new color schemes, red brake calipers, quilted leather package in silver as well as a new diamond-stitched Alcantara headliner. Additionally, the 2015 Audi R8 V10 will be offered with S-tronic, dual-clutch transmission that will be available with a new sports exhaust system. Mechanically, the car remains identical. As the base R8 still packs the same 4.2-liter V-8 churning out 420 horses. The R8 V10 gets a 5.2-liter V-10 engine good for 525bhp, and top-of-the-line R8 V10 Plus offers a 550bhp version of this engine. Both manual and the S-tronic dual-clutch gearboxes will be available with the units.
