Anant Ambani, son of the richest man in Asia, is said to have received a $1.6 million gold-plated armored Dartz SUV as a wedding gift. Fit for a president, the SUV is as tough as a battle tank; it has carbon-kevlar body panels and can go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds.

After seven months of endless extravagant pre-wedding celebrations, Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Asia’s richest man, finally got married to his long-time girlfriend and billionaire heiress, Radhika Merchant, on Friday. The star-studded ceremony in Mumbai was covered by all the major news outlets, including the New York Times, CNN, and BBC. No expense was spared by the wealthiest family in India to make the wedding a grand spectacle. Just to give you an idea of the extravagance of the wedding ceremony, the groomsmen and Anant’s close friends were gifted limited edition Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watches worth $250,000.

However, there was a very special wedding gift waiting for the groom, as well. If rumors are to be believed, the 29-year-old Ambani Scion received an allocation for a gold Dartz SUV, which could soon join his insane car collection.

In case the name Dartz doesn’t ring a bell, it’s the same Latvian company that became famous for creating the gaudy gold SUV seen in Sacha Baron Cohen’s political satire comedy The Dictator. The original movie car was based on the Hummer H2 and featured a gold-plated body with outlandish styling. Two years ago, Dartz celebrated the 10th anniversary of the release of the film with a new special edition model of the Dartz Prombron.

Using the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 as the foundation, the gold SUV is powered by the German automaker’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 tuned to produce 800 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The massive SUV can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 174 mph. The Prombron has a starting price of $1.6 million and offers protection against 0.50 caliber high-velocity armor-piercing rounds.

In addition to being a collector of rare and ultra-expensive watches, Anant is also known for his love for cars. A few weeks back, he was spotted hand delivering his wedding invitations in a brand-new Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge, surrounded by a convoy of Mercedes-AMG G 63s security cars for protection.

Estimated to be worth $1.5 million, the heavily personalized Rolls-Royce is the 9th Cullinan to be owned by the Ambanis and is finished in a very rare shade called Pebble Paradiso. However, a gold-plated Dartz SUV traveling in a massive convoy on the streets of Mumbai will definitely attract more attention. It’ll also be the first and only Dartz SUV in India, which is something that Anant would definitely like.
