Apt for a Bond villan – Aston Martin has unveiled a dark-themed DB11 V8 ‘Shadow Edition’ limited to just 300 units

We are just a few days away from the 2020 Geneva Motor Show officially opening its doors and already we have plenty of new cars that have been announced in the run-up to the event. The latest of them is the 2021 Aston Martin DB11 V8 Shadow Edition – a limited edition version of the V8-powered DB11 that comes with a long list of exclusive features along with the distinction of being limited to just 300 examples. As the name suggests, the limited edition gets a sinister, dark theme that gives the DB11 a menacing makeover. Available in both Coupe and Volante styles, the Shadow Edition gets exterior styling enhancements such as gloss black accents around the body, gloss black hood badge, and 20-inch wheels also finished in gloss black.

Inside the cabin, the Shadow Edition features Pure Black Alcantara and Obsidian Black Leather on the steering wheel, black anodized sill plates, polished black chrome wings and script badging. Customers will also get the option to add even more gloss black parts. The changes are purely cosmetic in nature and the limited edition is mechanically identical to the regular V8 DB11. What that means is it retains the twin-turbo V8 that churns out 503 horsepower and 497 pound-feet of torque which is sent to the rear wheels with the help of a torque-converter automatic transmission. “We have carefully selected the Shadow Edition design elements to subtly yet noticeably alter the DB11’s appearance – moving it further towards a more assertive and purposeful GT style,” said Marek Reichman, the executive vice president and chief creative officer of Aston Martin.
