Bugatti’s $4.7 million track-only Bolide hypercar has a removable Yoke steering wheel that can be used as a decorative and bragging piece in the owner’s penthouse.

It’s been three years since Bugatti revealed the Bolide, the wildest derivative of the Chiron which has been created as a purpose-built track monster. During this time period, we’ve seen it transform from an over-the-top one-off to a proper track-only limited edition production model. However, until now, all we got to see was the exterior design of the Bolide along with its crazy aero elements. But not anymore! Bugatti has finally revealed the interior of the beastly hypercar which is bathed in carbon fiber and Alcantara. Developed specifically for the Bolide, the cabin looks completely different from every other Chiron-derived hypercar Bugatti has created to date. It looks like a luxurious version of a Le Mans endurance race car.

The first thing you’ll notice inside Bolide’s cabin is the yoke-style steering wheel, which Bugatti is calling an “X-shaped” steering wheel. The design of the steering matches the shape of the hypercar’s unique taillights. Furthermore, the steering wheel can be easily removed like in an actual race car, while Bugatti says it can serve as decoration when not in use. Right behind is a floating digital instrument cluster with three individual displays nestled in a carbon fiber housing, which offers important readouts for things like lap times and G forces. The center console features an array of large-sized physical buttons along with two toggle switches on the top and two big red buttons at the base that read “Stop” and “Fire”.

Flanking the center console are exhaust-like pipes that are inspired by the quad-pipes attached to the hypercar’s fire-breathing engine. These are the AC vents that channel cool air into the cabin. To keep the overall weight as light as possible, the cabin features sports seats with carbon fiber shells that are directly attached to the hypercar’s monocoque chassis.

Owners can select from four different sizes offered by Bugatti depending on their body type. Since the seats are fixed, the steering wheel and the pedals are adjustable. The entire cabin is covered in exposed carbon and Alcantara. However, customers can choose to customize the cabin according to their taste.

The Bolide is powered by Bugatti’s familiar 8.0-liter W16 engine. However, it has been tuned to produce 1,578 horsepower, which is insane considering the track-only hypercar weighs only 3,196 pounds. Bugatti Bolide’s production is scheduled to start in 2024 and the French automaker will build only 40 examples, each priced at around $4.7 million. While Bolide’s steep pricing makes it one of the most expensive production cars in the world, all the proposed units were snapped up by Bugatti patrons in no time.
