Brace yourselves, there’s a Bugatti biopic coming to the silver screen soon, made by the same producer behind the utterly forgettable Lamborghini and Ferrari films

Italian movie producer Andrea Iervolino, responsible for 2022’s Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend and 2023’s Ferrari, is cueing up another automotive film. This time around his sights are set on Ettore Bugatti, founder and first CEO of Bugatti, maker of the world’s most luxurious road-going hypercars. Filming is set to start in 2025 with a release likely in 2026, and the film follows Ettore’s early days and the Bugatti company’s rise to fame.

Like the other automotive films in Iervolino’s bag, the Bugatti film will also feature an international cast and be filmed in English. Before the Bugatti movie sees the light of day, Iervolino’s third film, Maserati: The Brothers, should hit movie screens. The movie stars Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins and is directed by Academy Award-winning director Bobby Moresco, who also directed Lamborghini.

Ettore’s first car – The Bugatti Type 10

The Bugatti biopic will bring Ettore Bugatti’s story of unbridled curiosity and ingenuity to the big screen, and honestly, it deserves to be told — for all the DIY-ers out there at the very least. Bugatti started his own distillery and bicycle because he wasn’t happy with even the best that was available at the time. Similarly, he was one of the first automobile makers to showcase his cars using motorsports as a platform, a trend that continues to date.

We can only hope the Bugatti movie moves along at a pace more akin to the ethos of the cars than some of the producer’s other films — we have our hopes set high for this one.
