Bugatti L’Ultime is the last Chiron ever to be assembled at the marque’s Molsheim factory, finally bringing an end to the $3 million hypercar’s production

Bugatti has revealed the 500th and final example of the Chiron 8 years after the W16 hypercar debuted at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Aptly called L’Ultime, which translates to “the last one,” marks the culmination of the production of Bugatti’s second modern-day hypercar, which was named after Monegasque racing driver Louis Chiron. Interestingly, the final Chiron pays tribute to the very first example with a special livery that combines Atlantic Blue and French Racing Blue. However, unlike the Chiron displayed at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2016, the two shades of blue seemly blend into each other on the L’Ultime, creating a unique look.

The final Chiron’s special paint job also features hand-written names of important places in Chiron history, which includes Ehra-Lessien (where it hit 304 mph), Paul Ricard (where the hypercar was tested), and Geneva (where it debuted). Additionally, the underside of the rear wing is hand-painted with the number “500,” which marks its presence in front of the rear wheels, on the wheel caps, and is engraved into the cover of the quad-turbo, 8.0-liter W16 engine.

The door mirrors are painted in the French flag colors to pay homage to Bugatti’s home country. Lastly, the L’Ultime wears a unique version of the famous Bugatti macaron on the horseshoe grille. Instead of the standard red emblem, the final Chiron’s nose is adorned with a blue badge.

On the inside, the L’Ultime is wrapped in hand-cut and hand-finished Deep Blue leather, which is complemented with blue-tinted carbon fiber trim. The center console and headrests are adorned with the number “500,” while the doorsills are painted with the edition’s name in Atlantic Blue.

Unsurprisingly, Bugatti has not disclosed the name of the owner of the L’Ultime, nor has it revealed the pricing. Being the very last Chiron to leave the factory floor, it could very well be worth more than $4 million. While Bugatti is done with producing Chiron-badged hypercars, it is yet to complete the production run of the Chiron-based Mistral roadster (99 units) and the track-only Bolide (40 units). However, unveiling the final Chiron has set the stage for introducing Bugatti’s next hypercar, which is expected to happen sometime next month.
