Before he hits the big 80, Blackstone chairman and CEO Stephen Schwarzman will become a superyacht owner. He is believed to be the owner of the 332-foot Feadship superyacht Project 1014, estimated to be worth $400 million, which was launched from the shipyard’s facilities in Makkum, the Netherlands, last week. Looking like a close cousin of recent Feadship mammoths like Faith and Breakthrough, the mammoth new build was launched after construction began in 2023.

The owner was revealed by the popular YouTube channel The Yacht Report, and the vessel, until now a highly secretive project, is believed to have taken shape on the drawing board of British studio RWD, which is responsible for her exterior design. For the interiors, RWD will be joined by Chahan Interior Design.

Speaking of design, while we are still a long way from seeing actual interior images, some details are already plainly visible, a dark navy hull, a tall white superstructure, sculptural hull glazing, subtle brass trim, a glass-bottomed aft-deck pool feeding light into the beach club below, a foredeck helipad, and a forward-facing Jacuzzi high up in the superstructure.

The beach club, with multiple fold-down balconies, adds to the sense that this is not just a giant yacht, but one designed to create dramatic lifestyle spaces. The glass-bottomed amps the effect with a design feature that filters light into the beach club below. The volume of this giant is believed to be 3,890 GT, and it is no wonder the crew look like Lilliputians on deck, giving yachting enthusiasts a fair idea of the yacht’s scale and grandeur.

It will be interesting to see what the vessel looks like from the inside. After all, it belongs to a billionaire worth $38 billion, who received an early education in business at his father’s dry goods store, Schwarzman’s Curtains and Linens.

While the curtains and linens aboard will indeed be impeccable and top-notch, the “King of Capital” will surely create his floating palace to mark the eighth decade of his life in true billionaire flair. Schwarzman is known for grand homes and a very polished, high-luxury lifestyle, one that will now likely be emulated at sea.

The 79 year old Yale graduate showed signs of being an exceptional businessman early in life. At 14, he started a lawn-mowing business, but rather than cutting grass himself, he employed his younger twin brothers to do the labor while he focused on marketing and landing new clients. Today, his private equity firm Blackstone had $1.2 trillion in assets under management as of September 30, 2025. It is safe to say the superyacht of one of the defining money men of modern Wall Street could redefine the standards of seafaring luxury in the years to come.
