This Texan appears to be building a Ferrari Testarossa 6×6, and it looks like something straight out of your wildest dreams.

Trust Richard Rawlings and the Gas Monkey Garage to come up with a Ferrari build that everyone but Ferrari will likely go crazy over. A massively re-engineered Ferrari Testarossa 6×6, with six wheels, was spotted on a trailer in Dallas, Texas by Instagram user Samuel Huber. In case there any doubt as to who the crazy 6-wheeled Ferrari may belong to, Richard Rawlings commented on the post with the universally accepted emoji for “You got me”.

Not much can be seen of Richard Rawlings’ Testarossa 6×6 from the video as it was taken from the rear of the car as it was being trailered. What is evident is grossly oversize wheels — all six of them. The rear end of the Testarossa has been quite obviously chopped to fit the extra axle at the rear. Considering the Testarossa is a mid-engine Ferrari, it isn’t quite clear how the team have made the extra room in the back for another axle. Unless they’ve ripped out the original 390 horsepower 4.9-liter V12 and swapped it for something else.

Another project the Gas Monkey Garage had been working on for a SEMA build was an electric Testarossa, a Teslarossa if you will. That would make things easier, instead of engineering a solution to move the engine further rear, lengthen driveshafts and figure out which of the four wheels at the rear get power.

Ferrari Testarossa

Richard Rawlings had purchased five Testarossas used as movie cars earlier in the year. If one, or two of them, have given up their life for this outrageous Ferrari build, that’s not the worst thing in the world.
