The $3 million Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster is an all American 1800 horsepower droptop track monster

American boutique hypercar manufacturer Hennessey Performance Engineering has introduced a new version of the 1,800 horsepower F5 Venom. Behold the new Hennessey F5 Revolution Roadster, an open-top version of the company’s lighter, track-focused F5 Revolution that was unveiled earlier this year. The Roadster variant is set to make its public debut next week at The Quail during Monterey Car Week. Just like the rest of the F5 Venom variants, Revolution Roadster is powered by the same 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that is capable of producing 1,817 horsepower. In fact, the Roadster is almost identical to the coupe version, except for one obvious difference – a removable roof panel.

The detachable roof is crafted from carbon fiber, which helps it weigh just 18 pounds. The Alcantara-lined panel is secured by four quick-release bolts along with a pair of high-strength latches designed to secure it in place at record-setting high speeds.

Hennessey also claims that the structural rigidity of the carbon fiber monocoque is unaffected with the roof chopped off and the Roadster is just as stiff and hardcore as the coupe version, making it perfect for use on race tracks. The Revolution models feature a bunch of aerodynamic elements and lighter components for better performance on racing circuits.

The F5 Revolution Roadster gets a bare carbon fiber body along with a tempered glass engine cover which is claimed to be four times stronger than normal glass. The aggressive aero package includes massive front and rear splitters and a re-engineered rear wing. There’s also a massive air scoop right above the cabin that feeds air to the V8 engine. Hennessey says only 12 units of the Roadster version, with only five of those offered in the “Bare Carbon” look seen here in the pictures.

The open-top hypercar has a starting price of $3 million; However, all the examples have already been spoken for, which is hardly a surprise. Hennessey’s hypercars are in huge demand, especially among celebrities and collectors. Basketball legend Michael Jordon recently took delivery of a $3.5 million F5 Venom Roadster.
