American hypercar manufacturer Hennessey has delivered a Venom F5 Roadster to the world’s greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan. A picture was posted by the automaker on its official Instagram handle where the company’s founder John Hennessey can be seen personally delivering the $3.5 million hypercar to the G.O.A.T. Jordon was handed over the keys at his Grove XXIII private golf club in Florida. John made the trip from Hennessey headquarters in Texas to be a part of the special delivery, accompanied by his passionate team. Sadly, only a small portion of the Venom F5 is visible in the picture uploaded on the social media platform. All we can make out is that it features a glossy exposed carbon fiber finish with contrasting yellow pinstriping.

Unveiled last year at The Quail Motorsport Gathering, the roadster version of the Hennessey Venom F5 is limited to just 30 examples, making it one of the rarest hypercars money can buy. Naturally, the list of people who’ll get to own the hypercar will include some big names. However, getting the NBA legend to become a Hennessey customer will be a tremendous boost to the American brand’s image, validating the desirability of its products. Michael Jordan is famous for his love for cars and his personal collection includes some highly desirable and extraordinary automobiles, which now includes the Venom F5 Roadster. He famously asked for a red Mercedes 380SL for his partnership with Nike, risking the $1.9 billion he eventually earned from the deal.

The Venom F5 Roadster, like most hypercars, is a very compact automobile with very little space inside the cabin to fit tall people. It will be interesting to see how MJ manages to climb inside the hypercar; his listed height is 6 feet and 6 inches. A comment on Hennessey’s Instagram post read: “All you saying that he won’t fit in it, know that there is no roof on it right ?? Even if there is retractable or hard top , he lives in Florida pretty much and won’t have top on the 10x he drives the car 7 miles.”

Performance cars feel ridiculously crammed for tall passengers, so it will be interesting to see how 6.6′ tall Michael Jordan fits in his new Roadster.

Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster
The Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster was revealed last year at The Quail during Monterey Car Week. It’s the convertible version of the Venom F5 coupe which was introduced a few years back with a claimed top speed of 311mph. Limited to just 30 examples, the open-top hypercar has a starting price of $3 million. The Roadster features a lift-off carbon-fiber targa panel which has resulted in a minimal weight penalty. Mechanically, the Roadster is identical to the coupe version and is powered by a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that produces 1817 horsepower. Hennessey says it is designed to deliver a top speed of more than 300mph, which theoretically makes it the fastest production convertible in the world.
