Bentley teamed up with renowned Savile Row tailor, Huntsman, to create two special editions Bentayga SUVs in collaboration with Jack Barclay – the world’s largest and oldest Bentley dealership. The exclusive Bentayga project celebrates the extraordinary centenaries of both Bentley and Huntsman that established its Savile Row boutique in 1919. The two special editions Bentaygas named ‘Sportsman’ and ‘Businessman’ each utilize Huntsman fabrics with Bentley’s emblematic color and trim, reflecting the individual lifestyles of the two collaborators’ customers. The cabin features distinctive interior patterns based on Huntsman tweeds, including the exclusive ‘Peck 62’ – a pattern exclusively used for Huntsman’s centenary in 1962. “Bentley is delighted to bring together two brands which have such an impeccable heritage in the heart of London – Jack Barclay and Huntsman,” said Stefan Sielaff, director of design and Mulliner, Bentley Motors. “The personalisation work we do at Mulliner is about bringing a vision to life – like creating a perfectly tailored suit – so adding an element of bespoke Huntsman material to the Bentayga’s lavish and beautiful interior is a perfect fit.”
The Businessman variant comes with a deep black and satin anthracite paint job on the outside. The urban-themed cabin design features carbon fiber trim that is contrasted with tweed trimmings in the door cards. The highlight of the model is the bespoke Mulliner chessboard in the rear seat rest, complete with a drawer trimmed in Huntsman fabric which houses the chess pieces. It mirrors the memorable chequerboard floor in the Jack Barclay Bentley showroom in London. The Sportsman model is inspired by more relaxed countryside lifestyle and features more pronounced use of the tweed on passenger and driver fascias and waistrails, and includes Imperial Blue leather and Liquid Amber veneer inserts, paired with a Candy Red exterior. The Huntsman edition Bentayga will each come with a Huntsman bespoke jacket that will be delivered with the car and can select from a variety of cloths and tweeds for their garment. There is no word on the pricing as of yet.
