2018 was not one of the best years when it came to the stock market. From Tokyo to New York stock markets across the globe took a beating due to the US / China trade tensions and a possible economic slowdown. But this did not deter anyone from buying Porsche’s, in fact, Porsche sold an astounding 256,255 units in 2018 making it the best year to date for the Stuttgart based automaker. Undoubtedly it was the SUV’s that moved the most numbers with the Macan and Cayenne clocking 86,031 and 71,458 deliveries respectively.
The iconic 911 saw a 10% rise in deliveries and brought a smile on the face of 35,573 customers. In terms of percentage growth, it was the Panamera that recorded a 38% growth to 38,443 deliveries.
In terms of markets, Porsche registered negative growth in its home markets of Germany and Europe. But this was made up by the Chinese which held on to its top position for deliveries at 80,108 units growing at 12%.
With the new 911 and all-electric Taycan scheduled to release this year, 2019 looks to be an even more promising year for Porsche.
