Porsche rightly declares that ‘The journey is the destination.’ And so built for the road……….experience the new Cayenne GTS. All set to blaze the ramps at Frankfurt Motor Show this week, Porsche has wisely emphasized the word sport in the sport-utility vehicle. The automaker’s new Cayenne GTS uses an electronically controlled damping system combined with steel springs which were only available in sports cars till now. The Sports spirit is also noticeable in the lowered suspension and Turbo-style front and rear panels of the GTS. A set of 21-inch alloy rims and 295/35R21 tires rounds out the package. The Cayenne GTS will be available in GTS Red and Nordic Gold Metallic. The direct-injection V8 powertrain has 405 horsepower, a 20-hp increase from the S. Maximum torque remains 369 pound-feet at 3,500 rpm. There’s a six-speed manual gearbox as standard which, combined with a shorter final-drive ratio, gives the GTS a 0-62-mph time of 6.1 seconds. That’s a half-second faster than the S.
