638-foot REV Ocean arrives in the Netherlands for final outfitting; luxury meets science with jacuzzis, labs, a cinema & more

REV Ocean, the world’s largest vessel, has been spotted out and about. The 638-footer recently arrived at Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen in the Netherlands, offering a glimpse of the marvel that will soon have the yachting world in awe. With nearly 15 to 18 months of outfitting ahead, the vessel is set for delivery in Q4 of 2026.

One striking image captures REV Ocean sailing past the boulevards of Vlissingen, where its sheer scale dwarfs everything around it, including towering buildings and, in some shots, even mountains. The colossal expedition yacht departed Vard’s facilities in Norway earlier this week, shortly after it was announced that she would be available for charter through Burgess.

A project eight years in the making, the 19,235GT superyacht is now nearing completion and is poised to become one of the most imposing vessels to ever grace the high seas. Even when available for charter, just 25% of the time, science will remain at its core, as guests will actively contribute to marine conservation projects.

Kjell Inge Røkke

Norwegian businessman and owner Kjell Inge Røkke has ensured that REV Ocean is packed with both luxury and entertainment. The yacht boasts outdoor lounges, a swimming pool, a tennis court, a padel court, a 35-seat Dolby Atmos cinema, an auditorium, a spa, and 18 spacious guest cabins. Renowned yacht designer Espen Øino is behind the striking exterior, while the interior is masterfully crafted by H2 Yacht Design.

Inge Røkke shared, “REV [Ocean] will be a platform for gathering knowledge. I would like to welcome researchers, environmental groups, and other institutions on board, to acquire new skills to evolve innovative solutions to address challenges and opportunities connected to the seas.”
