Bugatti recently invited a handful of very important patrons of the brand and dealers from around the world for an intimate Christmas dinner at its home in Molsheim, France. The gathering spent the evening sharing extraordinary experiences and celebrating important moments of the year, marking a crucial chapter in the automaker’s storied history. To celebrate the tradition of festive gifting and the spirit of generosity, a charity auction was held during the event, supporting Semeurs d’Étoiles, a local charity focused on caring for hospitalized children and their families.
The auction included a Bugatti hood adorned with hand-drawn sketches from Jascha Straub, Bugatti’s Lead Designer Sur Mesure. The winning bid of €50,000 (about $52,000) was made by the owner of the Singh Collection, who owns all four of Bugatti’s modern record-setting cars, including the latest W16 Mistral world record car.
As a token of gratitude towards Bugatti and its leader, the mystery Bugatti customer gifted the unique piece to Mate Rimac, the brand’s 36-year-old CEO.
The identity of the Singh Collection’s owner has been a closely guarded secret. However, this extremely important Bugatti customer was publicly seen for the first time when the French automaker used his $14.8 million Mistral to set a new world record. For the first time in history, Bugatti invited a customer to witness the milestone event of setting a new record for the world’s fastest roofless car by hitting a top speed of 282 mph.
Furthermore, the Singh Collection owner was allowed to ride shotgun in his Mistral with Andy Wallace, Bugatti’s official test driver, who almost reached the same speed and unofficially set the record for the fastest-ever passenger ride.
