Concepts are fun because they favor the bold, the brazen who are never afraid of standing out in a crowd. Enter the Fusion trimaran concept, the largest in the world, stretching nearly as wide as a tennis court is long. It completely shatters the traditional monohull blueprint, fusing architectural scale with the unbridled flamboyance of a true superyacht. At 360 feet, it is undeniably massive, but more importantly, it ditches convention at every turn and emerges a stunner.
To begin with, a striking metallic shade of green declares right away that an unconventional vessel is coming your way. Step inside, and the interior narrative makes way for novelty like never before. The hues are neutral, the milieu a soothing sepia, highlighted by deliberate visual interruptions.
A monumental central staircase wraps around a glowing, freestanding pillar of glass and natural stone spanning three decks. Highlighting the whopping 8,200GT interior is a second art installation on the main deck, spanning the full 8.5-foot ceiling height with solid cast-glass sheets that look like water frozen for a millennium. Further in, the main deck cinema lounge features an oculus artwork conceived as an “Eye in the Sky,” marking the grand entrance to a 16-square-meter, 8K MicroLED video cinema wall built for more than 20 guests.
The glamorous Fusion trimaran comfortably accommodates up to 18 guests across nine staterooms. The owner’s suite, however, operates on an entirely different plane of opulence. It is a completely private residence featuring a secluded aft terrace, a sizable bed positioned directly beneath a skylight, generous his-and-hers bathrooms, a dedicated workspace, and twin dressing rooms that would easily win Anna Wintour’s seal of approval. Across the vessel, guests have multiple lounging and dining areas that seat 18 with ease.
But life at sea is best enjoyed outdoors, and Fusion delivers a massive 3,340 square meters of exterior deck space. The foredeck, better called a playdeck in this case, can host a helicopter, a full-scale tennis match, or an open-air party with equal, effortless ease.
While most might point to the generous tender garage as one of the highlights, the spa easily earns the title of pièce de résistance onboard. It is a monument inside a monument, with daybeds arranged in a hypnotic circle around a swinging Foucault pendulum.
Serene lighting, semi-transparent latticework, and backlit walls add a mesmerizing calmness, while shallow water features soothe the senses even before treatments begin. The wellness center is rounded out by a hammam, sauna, plunge pool, beauty and massage rooms, and state-of-the-art changing facilities, alongside a separate gym and health center featuring a counter-current pool.
Running this floating estate is a crew of 49, ensuring a seamless experience, whether they are managing the staggering fleet of toys and tenders (including four 15-meter tenders, dive gear, and expedition vehicles) or curating onboard life. The Fusion trimaran concept was brought to life by the Dutch design studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design for the Monaco Yacht Show, in collaboration with Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture.
