There are people who buy ultra-exclusive automobiles only to park them inside temperature-controlled rooms as showpieces. On the other side of the spectrum are those who buy such exotic machines only to abuse them, mostly in the name of getting more followers on social media platforms. Sadly, the second kind often ends up destroying rare automotive pieces of artwork. Case in point: someone recently crashed a one-off 789-horsepower McLaren Senna while showboating on a public street in California. The incident was captured on video, which was uploaded on Reddit by user slattdemon99. The user also went on to claim that the track-focused McLaren was being driven by YouTuber Edmond Barseghian, who goes by Mondi.
In the video, the road-legal track day monster can be seen being driven like a maniac on Ventura Boulevard in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles, California, with people recording the whole thing on their smartphones. The driver decides to wow the crowd by pulling off donuts in the middle of the street. That’s when the supercar goes out of control, crashing into a building. It turns out that the green McLaren smashed into the front of the Lexus of Woodland Hills dealership, causing a lot of damage. The video also includes the aftermath of the accident, which shows the $1.3 million supercar glued to a pillar with its entire front end destroyed. A damaged Toyota Camry can also be seen next to the McLaren.
While Barseghian initially did not confirm if he was behind the wheel when the incident took place, the YouTuber posted a video just five days ago of a McLaren Senna that looks awfully similar to the one involved in the crash. The title of the video reads, “1/1 Kiwi Edition McLaren Senna in the World, in the Galaxy, in the Universe!” However, after the Reddit video went viral, Barseghian admitted that he was indeed driving the rare supercar when the accident took place and even issued an apology on Instagram.
But it came after making attempts to convince the Reddit user to take down the video. “I don’t want my insurance to see it bro,” apparently, he told the person who uploaded the video. Barseghian is the same guy who badly damaged his Hummer EV just nine miles into his ownership, racking up a repair bill of $80,000. He also claims to be a racecar driver, but this accident might put a big question mark on his driving skills. After the accident, he also made his Instagram account private, which has around 314,000 followers.
