Dubai has built two massive heart shaped lakes in the middle of the desert and they are even visible from space

From skyscrapers to full-fledged islands, Dubai doesn’t fail to mesmerize. And one such sight in the Emirati land is the lovely Love Lake. The man-made wonder includes two intertwined heart-shaped lakes set up near Al Qudra that spell all things love.

Unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council for Dubai Government, the site also boasts hundreds of thousands of shrub varieties, over 16,000 trees, and thousands of colorful flowers, including red begonia, either arranged in heart shapes or to spell out the word “Love.”

The spot is perfect for barbeques and sunsets and makes an ideal location for couples looking for a weekend getaway. It features shaded areas, fire pits, and of course, washrooms on site. So enormous is the love lake that they can be viewed all the way from space!

While there are currently no restaurants on the site, food is available at a distance of 30 minutes. The lake is best experienced aerially, either from a helicopter or at the least via drone footage. If a love-filled weekend outing is what you crave, head out 50 kilometers into the desert to the unique love lake!
