From a jungle tour of Ubud to snorkelling in Reykjavik – According to Tripadvisor these are the 10 best travel experiences in the world for 2019

As the rest of the world is flocking England for all things World Cup and Wimbledon, we’ve compiled a list of experiences for the less-sporty, courtesy of TripAdvisor. The American travel aggregate platform has announced 2019 Travelers’ Choice awards for experiences. This elaborate list is everything you need, whether you are a sightseeing enthusiast or an adrenaline junkie.

Just like every other TripAdvisor list, this too has been compiled using the experiences and reviews of travelers all over the world.

10. The Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica
Tour, Rome, Italy
Summering in Rome without a trip to the city’s most celebrated monuments is perhaps something short of a crime. The Vatican museums are recognized world-over for their portfolio of precious artworks, while Michelangelo’s artistry graces the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, making mandatory to witness. The St. Peter’s Basilica Tour is definitely worth a visit for every art-aficionado out there.

9. Chicago Architecture River Cruise, Chicago, USA
Whether you are an architectural fanatic or not, a trip down the Chicago river is highly recommended. Not only do you get a glimpse of the city’s inspiring architecture, but you get up close to the city’s most glorious landmarks like the Willis Tower and the Wrigley Building.

8. Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour, Florence, Italy
The picturesque canvas of Tuscany is home to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the vineyards of Chianti. TripAdvisor offers you one of the most holistic tours in the region, that enthrals you in a unique experience. 7. Snorkeling Silfra Tour with Pick Up, Reykjavik, Iceland
Imagine the beauty of Iceland, and then envision yourself experiencing a 5-hour snorkeling adventure at Silfra. The agenda for the day would be to explore a diverse range of flora and fauna while swimming through rock formations. Interestingly, this is the only place in the world where you can swim between tectonic plates.

6. Red Rock Canyon Electric Bike Tour, Las Vegas, Nevada
Thankfully for us, there are a plethora of things to do in Las Vegas that does not entail gambling. This bike tour promises scenic mountainous views as you bike through a 13-mile ride in the Red Rock Canyon National Park. Riders experience beautiful views of the area famous for its red rock formations.

5. Private Guided Tour on a Vintage Sidecar, Paris, France
Experience the charisma and spirit of Paris as you explore the city on a vintage sidecar. Your guide will take you through the French city of lights as you sit back and relax in your sidecar. The tour includes the Champs Elysees, and of course the Eiffel Tower.

4. 1-Hour Luxury Canal Tour starting at Anne Frank House Amsterdam, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Visiting the city of Amsterdam is truly amazing and unconventional! For one, you can ditch taxis and buses for adorable boat-rides through the city. Relax on the boat as your guide introduces you to the city’s must-sees.

3. Best of Ubud Tour with Jungle Swing, Ubud, Indonesia
Of course, this is not for the faint-hearted. I mean, the picture reveals that rather quickly. But, the experience is truly extraordinary. After stopping midway through your jungle trek, indulge in a super-fun jungle swing as you embrace beautiful views of the forest and rice paddies beneath you.

2. Xi’an Evening Food Tour by TukTuk, Xi’an, China
Finally, an experience that appeals to our culinary connoisseurs. I must point out that this tour should be booked only if you are a non-vegetarian or are fascinated with the diverse specialities of the region. Tour the winding streets of the old town on a tuk-tuk, as you discover and learn about the food culture of Xi’an. On your tour, you’ll also be taken to hidden family-run eateries that are brimming with the best of local dishes.

1. Kaituna River White Water Rafting, Rotorua, New Zealand
Perhaps my favourite on the list, the Kaituna River white water rafting experience! Commence your adventurous journey in the rainforest as you are whisked away through the mighty rapids. Through your trip, embrace your adventurous ride as you raft down the tallest commercially rafted waterfall in the world.
