Uber introduces rides in Lamborghinis, Maseratis in Singapore

A couple of days back, personal taxi service Uber rolled out a promotional campaign in LA and New York that was offering a chance to be chauffeured around in a Rolls Royce. If that sounds impressive, wait until you hear Uber’s latest offer that lets you fetch a ride in a luxury supercar, a Lamborghini Gallardo no less. Uber has expanded its offerings in Singapore by adding a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and Maserati GranTurismo to its fleet providing lifts for users of the ride-sharing program. The service has been launched in collaboration with Dream Drive, a luxury car-rental company and run daily between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. Each ride in the Lamborghini comes with a price tag of S$200 (that’s around $145, £100 or AU$185), with an S$7 charge for each minute past the first 15.

The Maserati starts at a cheaper S$165 but with the same extra charge beyond the initial clock-in. The pricing might be a bit steep considering that the person will ride shotgun rather than driving them but then Singapore doesn’t see luxury supercars all too often due to the extremely high prices of cars in the island state. This isn’t the first time Uber has launched a promotional campaign offering a ride in a supercar in Singapore. Last year, the compant tied up with Johnnie Walker to give away free rides in a McLaren 650S.
