The new lineup of the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony shows less truly is more

Unveiled at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024, the classic-yet-contemporary dress watch Vacheron Constantin Patrimony lineup sees a few updates for its 20th anniversary. The biggest change, in signature Vacheron Constantin subtlety is a reduction in case size from 40mm to 39mm for the new manual-winding models. Alongside, the lineup sees the debut of three new models, featuring a new sunburst antique silver-toned dial, new strap colors, and the option to customize the caseback.

The Vacheron Constantin Patrimony MP Retro Date

The Patrimony line debuted in 2004, becoming an almost-instant classic with its minimalist design, despite it eschewing the “rules” of the typical dress watch. Its 40mm case size immediately marked it as an outlier in a world of 33-35mm case timepieces, making it a dress watch with versatility on its side. The larger case and timeless styling mean the Patrimony line is just as at home paired with a sharp suit as it is paired with a crisp, white tee.

The two new manual-winding models in the 39mm case size are available in white gold or pink gold finishes, a new antique silver-toned dial, two new strap colors in azure blue or olive-green, and a closed caseback that can be optioned with a personalized engraving in gold. The third new Patrimony model carries a white gold finish for its 42.5mm case, with moon phases and retrograde date on an old-silver-toned dial, with an olive-green alligator strap.

The Vacheron Constantin Patrimony manual winding

Thanks to the in-house developed Calibre 1440 42-hour power reserve movement for the manual-winding models that measures in at just 2.6mm thick, the Patrimony family still sets itself apart in its slender height for an automatic. Vacheron Constantin occupies hallowed space in Swiss horology, even if it doesn’t shout about it, and the new Patrimony line is the perfect reason why.
