The new Chopard golf watch comes with diamond ‘balls’ that move across the green

If you’re a golf enthusiast who likes luxe watches – this one’s for you! Inspired by the iconic sport, Chopard has recently unveiled a watch that comes with diamond ‘balls’ and a series of other specifications. Yes, that’s right!

Christened the Happy Sport Golf Edition, the watch comes with a bezel set with five diamonds between two sapphire crystals. It features a green calfskin strap with a mobile golf club and ball that adds a special element to the presentation.

For further charm, the timepiece comes with a crown faceted with dimples reminiscent of a golf ball. It also houses an automatic movement, a power reserve of 42 hours, and is water-resistant up to 30m/3 bar.

In a bid to encourage responsible sourcing, the mobile golf club and ball are crafted using ethical gold, sourced either from artisanal, small-scale operations regulated by the Alliance for Responsible Mining or from refiners certified by the Responsible Jewelry Council.

Chopard introduced the Happy Diamonds concept in 1976 after Ronald Kurowski, a designer working for the brand, got inspired by a waterfall he saw while on a walk in Germany’s Black Forest. The concept was initially used for a jewelry collection, but in 1993 the company’s creative director and co-president Caroline Scheufele applied it to a line of watches – the Happy Sport.
