Fritz Neuser has decided it’s time to spread the things that have brought him joy. At 93 years old, the former Olympic cyclist turned legendary car dealer is parting with his collection of classic Italian automobiles he calls his “life’s work”. The auction will take place in March 2026, through Artcurial, marking the end of an era for one of Germany’s most respected and understated car collectors.

The collection includes 21 Ferraris, showcasing Neuser’s lifelong passion for Italian automobiles. Among the highlights is a 1974 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona in Pine Green, a color rarely seen on this model. Ferrari Daytona coupés typically command values averaging around $650,000, though exceptional examples have sold for more.

The collection also features an Alfa Romeo GTAm authenticated by the factory and museum as number 22 of only 40 originals built. Alfa Romeo GTA models have sold for as much as $392,000 at recent auctions. Additional standouts include a Ferrari F355 in concours condition, an Abarth 2200 Allemano Spider, a De Tomaso Pantera GTS 5, a Chevron B19 prototype, Ferrari 512 BB and 512 BBi models, and a rare 308 GTB Vetroresina.

The Ferrari-Fritz collection extends beyond cars, with everything from rare engines to cycles hitting the block. Eleven engines, including an Alfa GTA four cylinder with magnesium crankcase, a Ferrari 246 GT V6, and a Lamborghini V12, along with rare vintage parts will go up for sale. Personal items include Neuser’s competition bicycles, featuring a carbon Colnago, one of three ever made, and his track bike used at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.

All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Fritz Neuser Foundation, which supports youth cycling. Fritz Neuser, who competed at the 1956 Olympics and later led one of Germany’s most successful car dealerships, going from dealing with British Leyland to Alfa Romeo and ultimately Ferrari models, has appeared in the German press as the “uncrowned king of luxury cars”. His hope is simple: that his cars bring others the same joy they brought him.
