Superyacht Royal Romance will soon find a new owner as the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) of Ukraine announced that Dutch auction house Troostwijk Auctions will spearhead the sale of the 303-foot-long seized luxury vessel. The decision regarding the Feadship beauty, commissioned by Russian businessman Viktor Medvedchuk, was made by vote during a meeting of the Commission on April 23. Royal Romancex was seized in Croatia in March 2022 after Russia invaded Ukraine, and possession was recently transferred to Ukraine.

This moment marks not only a historic and groundbreaking occasion but also a very rare instance of a seized luxury vessel gaining a new lease on life. Auctioning a seized superyacht is no easy task, as demonstrated by the failed sale of the seized Alfa Nero superyacht. Additionally, this marks the first time that a seized asset will serve and contribute to the benefit of Ukraine.
